Sharpen a knife with a stone block

--Wet the rough side of the stone using water or vegetable oil.

--Applying firm pressure, run the blade along the stone, holding it at a 20 degree angle.

--Turn the blade and repeat the process

--When finished, make sure to wipe the blade down using a cloth or paper towel, in order to dry it and catch any remaining metal or stone.

--Test the knife on a piece of paper and if it's not sharp enough, repeat process.
